Find it in a minute

Where the model number is on your unit

It depends on the appliance. Inside the fresh food compartment on a refrigerator, usually high on the left or right wall. On the edge of the door on a dishwasher. On the frame inside the door on a wall oven or a range. Behind a filter on a hood. Inside the door frame on a microwave, a washer or a dryer. Behind the grille at the bottom on an undercounter cabinet, and inside the door frame on a wine cellar.

Take a photograph rather than writing it down. The full number includes the letters after the digits — those decide which parts fit, and they are the part people misread most often.

What a repair costs
A close view along the inside edge of an open appliance door in a dark kitchen, showing a small blank metal plate mounted flush on the frame.

By what it is doing

Or start from the symptom

If you do not have the number to hand, start from what the unit is doing. Every symptom page says what to check first and when it stops being a five-minute job.

  • The open interior of a tall built-in refrigerator seen straight on in a dark kitchen, shelves of unlabeled food, the light on and a faint sheen of condensation on the glass shelves.
    Everything works except the cold

    Refrigerator not cooling

The call we take more often than any other. On built-in refrigeration the first suspect is almost never the compressor — it is the condenser behind the grille above the door, which in a Miami kitchen collects salt, cooking aerosol and dust until it can no longer shed heat, with nothing on the display to say so.

    What it usually means
  • Two tall integrated column doors in a dark kitchen, one standing open showing lit shelves and the other closed and flush with the cabinetry beside it.
One compartment fine, the other not

    Refrigerator warm and freezer cold

A cabinet where one side holds and the other does not. On a built-in side-by-side that is one machine with a delivery problem; on a pair of integrated columns it is two machines and only one of them is unwell. Which of those you have decides the entire diagnosis.

    What it usually means
  • Water pooled across the floor of a refrigerator compartment beneath a clear crisper drawer that has been pulled forward, seen close and from above in cold interior light.
Water inside, underneath or on the floor

    Refrigerator leaking water

Where the water is tells you most of what you need to know. Inside the cabinet points at the defrost drain; underneath points at the drain pan or a supply connection; in front of the door on a dispenser model points at the line in the door. On integrated cabinetry it matters more than usual, because the floor is often the expensive part of the room.

    What it usually means
  • A close view along the closed edge of a large refrigerator door in a dark kitchen where a thin line of light escapes between the gasket and the cabinet near the top corner.
A line of light, a panel out of true, a gasket that has given up

    Refrigerator door not sealing

The problem that almost nobody calls about and that causes several of the problems people do call about. On integrated cabinetry the door carries a custom panel on hinges shimmed for its weight, and doors settle. What you see is a line that no longer matches the run; what the appliance sees is humid air, all day, every day.

    What it usually means
  • The lower grille of a tall built-in refrigerator removed and set aside, showing a dusty condenser coil and a fan in the machinery compartment behind it.
New sounds from a cabinet that used to be quiet

    Refrigerator making noise

Built-in refrigeration is designed to be unobtrusive, so a sound that is new is worth investigating even when the cabinet is still cold. Most of these are fans and mountings — inexpensive on their own, and cheaper before they take something else with them.

    What it usually means
  • A thick even sheet of white frost across the moulded plastic back wall of a domestic freezer compartment, a wire basket edge in the foreground, photographed close in cold light so the texture of the ice reads clearly.
Ice that comes back after you clear it

Frost building up in the freezer

Frost you clear and that returns within days is a defrost cycle that is no longer completing, or humid air getting in faster than the cycle can remove it. Both are ordinary and both are fixable, but they are different jobs — and where the frost sits is what tells them apart.

    What it usually means

Your number is not listed?

This is a list of what people ask about, not of what we repair.

46 numbers have pages here because those are the ones people search for by number. We work on the rest of the range as well — the pages simply follow demand rather than the catalog.

Tell us the number from the data plate and what the unit is doing, and we will tell you what the machine is, what the symptom usually points at, and what the work involves. Call (305) 614-3572, or send a photograph of the plate through the form above.

Before you book

Questions about models and parts

Is a twenty-year-old unit still worth repairing?

Usually, yes. These were built to be repaired, and a legacy cabinet in good condition with sound cabinetry is worth keeping. Where it stops being worth it is when the work approaches what the unit is worth, or when a second major failure is already visible — and we will say so on the visit rather than after.

Can you still get parts for the older units?

For most of what fails, yes — OEM parts are available on order, though legacy parts can take a few days to source. That is why we confirm a part is the problem before ordering it rather than after.

Why do you not list the specifications for each model?

Because we cannot verify them. Capacity, dimensions and production years published second-hand are wrong often enough that a table of them would be a liability, and inventing one would break our own rule about publishing only what we can stand behind. What we do publish is what the number means for the repair.

The number on my unit has letters after it. Does that matter?

Yes, for parts. The digits identify the family; the letters identify the configuration, and two units sharing the same digits can take different components. Photograph the whole plate and we will read it from there.

Do you work on the current range as well?

Yes, the whole current range. These pages exist because a number is what people search by; everything else this maker sells is covered on the appliance pages.

In more detail

What a Monogram model number actually tells you

The letters at the front name the family

A Monogram model number is a product line, not a serial. Z is Monogram. The second letter names
the family — I for refrigeration and ice, G for gas, H for induction, D for a dishwasher or a drawer,
S for a speed oven, T for an oven, V for ventilation, W for wine or warming, E for the hearth oven.
The suffix is the finish: SS is stainless, BB is black, II is integrated or panel-ready. So ZDP is a
dual-fuel professional range and ZGP is the all-gas version of the same appliance, and the one letter
between them decides whether the oven has an element or a burner.

Why every page here names its siblings

Appliances that share a prefix share their engineering and differ in width, finish and hinge,
which means they share their parts and their failures too. Publishing one page per SKU would be
forty-six pages saying the same thing about a hundred and two appliances. Publishing one page per
family, with every sibling number listed on it, means a number that is not the one at the top of the
page still lands somewhere useful — and it means the page can say something true about the whole
line rather than something generic about one of them.

Where the number actually is

On refrigeration it is inside the fresh-food compartment, usually on the left wall. On a fully
integrated dishwasher it is on the tub edge behind the door. On a range or a wall oven it is on the
frame behind the door, and on some ranges behind the bottom drawer. Photograph it rather than
copying it down: these numbers are long, and one wrong character sends a technician to the wrong
parts list.

Why this list is the current catalog and nothing else

Every number on these pages was taken from the manufacturer’s own storefront and resolves to a
live product page there. That makes this a shorter list than an old parts index would produce, and a
correct one — a good deal of what earlier write-ups of this brand list has simply stopped being
sold. If your number is not here, that says nothing about whether we repair the appliance. Send the
whole number off the plate and what it is doing, and we will tell you which family it belongs to and
what the visit would involve.

Send the plate, and what it is doing.

A photograph of the data plate and a line about the symptom is enough for us to say what is likely and what it should cost.
