What F1 means, in the maker's own words

The manufacturer's table gives this as a problem with the keypanel, and the panel often needs replacing. In practice it is a key that the control believes is being held down — which is why it usually arrives after a spill, a clean, or something heavy left leaning on the panel.

Where this code actually appears

On the control panel, and usually with a sound. Monogram describes their refrigerator codes as flashing green on the display and typically accompanied by a beeping, and the range, microwave and dishwasher tables all describe codes you can read from the front of the appliance. That is the opposite of some makes, where the number is written into a hidden log and never shown — here, if something is wrong, the appliance generally tells you. Photograph what it says before cutting the power, because a reset erases it and the code is most of the diagnosis.

Which machines this one applies to

Monogram professional ranges and wall ovens. Monogram says plainly on their own range and oven table that they cannot list every code for every model past and present, so a code missing from their table is not proof that your appliance cannot raise it — and a code in it is not proof that yours can. The model number settles it.

What to do about it

1. Try the appliance again after clearing the display. A single stuck key sometimes frees itself.
2. Look for anything on the panel — a spill under the membrane, a heavy pan resting against it, or cleaning liquid that has run down behind the glass.
3. If it repeats, the keypanel is the part. On these ovens that is a defined repair rather than an open-ended one.
4. On a dual-fuel range, note that the gas top will keep working perfectly while this is showing. That does not mean the code is nothing.
