# Monogram advantium not browning or cooking slowly

### Watch it through the door with the light off

Start a speedcook program and look. The halogen lamps are bright and obvious, above and below the food, and if one bank is dark that is your answer without any tools. It is the most direct diagnosis on this site and it takes ten seconds.

### What it usually means, by the kind of Monogram appliance

Monogram sells one appliance in several forms, and the same behavior points at different things on each of them. A built-in side-by-side and an integrated column are not the same service situation, and a dual-fuel range and an induction range fail in different halves.

- **120 V Advantium** — Speedcook is carried mostly by the lamps and the microwave side, with no true convection element. Pale results here point at the lamps almost immediately.
- **240 V Advantium** — Carries a proper convection element as well, so slow results can be the element, the lamps or the fan, and F6 exists on this oven to report high cavity temperature.
- **Above-the-cooktop Advantium** — The same cooking technology in a position that also has ventilation duties, so a blocked filter above the range affects it in a way it does not affect a wall installation.

### Why the two Advantium ovens are treated separately here

They are not trim levels of one appliance. The 120-volt and 240-volt ovens deliver power differently, carry different components and publish different code tables — F6, high cavity temperature, exists on the 240 V oven and not on the 120 V one. Reading one against the other’s table is the most common way these get misdiagnosed, and the model number is what prevents it.

A failed halogen lamp

The lamp circuit

Its driver or wiring rather than the lamp itself.

The convection element

Look through the door

Lamps above and below should be visibly lit during speedcook.

Find the model number

It decides which of the two ovens you have and therefore which code table applies.

Try a manual microwave program

If that heats normally, the microwave side is fine and this is the lamps.

Check the ventilation

Clearances around a speed oven matter more than around a conventional one.

It runs, and the results are pale

That is the microwave side rather than the lamps — the magnetron, the high voltage circuit or the interlocks. Please do not open it: the capacitor in that circuit holds a dangerous charge long after the appliance is unplugged.

### Is a lamp something I can change?

It is a serviceable part, and it is inside an appliance that also contains a high voltage microwave circuit. We would rather do it.
