### How often should the filters be cleaned?

Every few weeks through the dishwasher for a heavily used hood is not excessive here.

### What is make-up air and why does it matter?

A powerful hood removes a lot of air from the house, and that air has to come from somewhere. In a tight, air-conditioned house with the doors shut there is nowhere for it to come from, so the hood cannot pull. Cracking a window while cooking is a free test of whether that is what is happening in your kitchen.
