The last one is often not the mechanism at all — a drawer that is not fully closed refuses to run, and that arrives as a dead appliance.

Check for something fouling the travel first, inside or on the counter in front of it. After that it is the drive or the position sensing, and those are diagnosed by watching it rather than by replacing parts.

### Is the drawer mechanism related to it not heating?

No — those are separate halves of the appliance. A drawer that opens and closes perfectly and does not heat is the cooking side, and that is a different repair with a different conversation about safety attached to it.
