### About induction problems

Induction has no flame and no element — each position is a coil and a power module underneath — so the failures are electronic and heat-related. Zones that stop responding, zones that reduce power on their own, or a whole side shutting down. The modules live in a confined space under the glass and protect themselves when they cannot shed their own heat, so the cooling fan and its air path are part of the diagnosis rather than an afterthought.

Test the pan

A magnet on the base. If it will not stick, the appliance is behaving correctly and there is nothing to repair.

Map which zones do what

One zone points at its coil or module; a whole side points at the module that drives that side or at its power supply.

Check the cooling

Fan, filter and the air path under the glass. A module that cannot shed heat protects itself by dropping power, which reads as an appliance getting weaker.

Measure the coil and the module

Rather than replacing the expensive one first.

Run every zone at full power

Long enough for a thermal problem to reappear, because these come back when things get hot and not before.

### One zone does not recognize my pan.

Test it with a magnet. If the magnet does not stick to the base, the appliance is behaving correctly and there is nothing to repair. That one test settles a good share of these calls before anybody comes out.

### It keeps dropping power on its own during a long cook.

That is thermal protection, and it usually means the electronics under the glass cannot get rid of their heat — a blocked air path, a drawer packed to the back, or an installation with less clearance than the specification asks for. Worth catching before the module fails outright.
