### Can I use vinegar?

Please do not. The bin also needs sanitizing, which vinegar does not do properly either.

### How often is right here?

Twice a year on unsoftened local water for a machine in regular use, and that is a genuine recommendation rather than an upsell — a plate that is descaled on schedule keeps making the ice it was specified to make, and one that is not never quite recovers.
