A dishwasher that will not start is often a dishwasher that does not believe its door is shut. On a panel-ready machine the door carries a heavy custom panel balanced on springs sized for it, and when those weaken the door drops fast, seals unevenly along the bottom and stops latching reliably. The latch is what fails; the door balance is usually why.

Check the door balance

Replace what has worn and re-tension
