# Monogram diagnostic visit

### About a diagnostic visit on a Monogram

A visit on built-in equipment has to plan its own access before it can start, so it opens with the model number and where the appliance is installed. After that it is ordinary careful work: the free causes ruled out because they are free, then a measurement rather than an impression, then the scope and the figure in writing before anything is opened. The fee is credited against the repair, which is what lets us tell you there is nothing wrong with a clear conscience.

What this involves

The model number first, because it decides the access

What the appliance reports, read against the published table

Credited toward the repair when you go ahead

The model number and where the appliance is installed

On this make those two are one question. A 36-inch column, a 48-inch built-in and a 24-inch undercounter unit are three different jobs before anything is opened.

What it is doing, in your words and in ours

How long, how suddenly, and what changed in the house around it. A surprising share of calls are traced to something outside the appliance, and this is where that surfaces.

What the appliance itself reports

The display, and on the fully integrated dishwasher the top edge of the door, which is where the code lives and where nobody looks.

The measurement that settles it

Temperature, continuity, water pressure, airflow, current draw — whichever the symptom calls for. A reading, not an impression, because a part named on an impression is bought twice.

What you are left with

What it is, what it will take, and what it starts at, before anything is opened. If the honest answer is that the appliance is not worth the repair, we say so on the visit.

### What should I have ready when I book?

The full model number, whatever the display is showing, and roughly how long it has been doing it. On the fully integrated dishwasher the display is on the top edge of the door, which is why most owners have never seen it.

### Where is the plate on a Monogram?

Refrigeration: inside the fresh-food compartment, usually on the left wall. Dishwasher: on the tub edge behind the door. Ranges and wall ovens: on the frame behind the door, and on some ranges behind the bottom drawer. Photograph it rather than copying it down — these numbers are long and a single wrong character sends us to the wrong parts list.
