### About repairing integrated columns

Columns are single-temperature cabinets installed flush and usually fitted in pairs, and the refrigeration inside them is ordinary. What is not ordinary is getting to it: panels and trim come off in an order, everything is serviced from the front, and the kitchen has to go back the way the cabinetmaker left it. The first question is always which cabinet, because a pair is two complete machines that share nothing but an opening.

In a pair, the good column tells you nothing about the bad one. Model number off the cabinet that is misbehaving, not its twin.

Plan the access before touching anything

Which panel, which trim, in which order, and what has to be supported while it is off.

Diagnose the refrigeration

Airflow, defrost, fans, sensors, then the sealed system — the same ladder as any cabinet, with less room to work in.

Repair, then reassemble to the kitchen

Panel back, trim back, alignment checked against the neighbouring column rather than against the appliance.

Verify over time, not over minutes

A column that has been opened needs to be seen pulling back down to temperature before the visit is finished.

### The refrigerator column is fine and the freezer column beside it is not.

Then you have one healthy appliance and one unwell one, and the healthy one tells you nothing about the other. Read us the model number off the cabinet that is misbehaving — they are different models with different plates, and using the wrong one sends us out with the wrong parts.

### Do the panels have to come off for every repair?

No. A good deal is reached from the front with the grille off. Panels come off when the door, the hinge or something behind the trim is involved, and when they do it is planned rather than improvised.
