# Monogram refrigerator: tC on the display is TurboCool running, not an error

### What the appliance is actually doing

Not an error. This is the TurboCool indicator showing that the feature is running — the cabinet is driving itself hard to pull a large load down quickly, and it stops on its own. On some displays it can look like EC or an upside-down F with a C, which is why people report it as a problem.

### Which machines this one applies to

Monogram refrigeration with electronic dispenser controls. Monogram says plainly on their own range and oven table that they cannot list every code for every model past and present, so a code missing from their table is not proof that your appliance cannot raise it — and a code in it is not proof that yours can. The model number settles it.

### What to do about it

- Nothing. It ends by itself when the cycle finishes.
- If you did not switch it on, somebody or something did — worth knowing, because TurboCool running constantly is not what it is for.

### Where this goes next

The job this usually becomes is [diagnostic visit](/services/diagnostic-visit/), and every one of those pages carries a starting figure and the reasons that move it. If it turns out to be nothing — and on this make a real share of these are modes rather than problems — the visit ends there and you pay the diagnostic and nothing else, or call [(305) 614-3572](tel:+13056143572) and describe what the display is doing before booking anything.
